Joseph Dyches, P.E. Civil Engineer
With more than six years of comprehensive experience, Joseph Dyches works with all aspects of land development, including stormwater, roadways, and utilities. He is experienced in site plan and land disturbance permitting as well as development of site, sediment and erosion control, grading, and utility plans. As a field inspector, Joseph performs the majority of Site Design’s CEPSCI and engineering inspections, examining worksites to ensure that construction is in compliance with the approved design.
Skilled at urban development and design, Joseph oversees the planning of infill projects, including residential subdivisions and apartment complexes. He was instrumental in the design of Velo Verdae, a 262-unit apartment complex in Greenville, SC; Carolina Oaks Village, a tax-credit apartment complex in Myrtle Beach, SC; and a myriad of other small projects. A supporter of sustainable development, Joseph strategically evaluates land sites to create plans that preserve and enhance natural resources.
Prior to joining Site Design, Joseph served as an officer in the U.S. Navy Civil Engineering Corps. While assigned to NAVFAC and stationed in New Orleans, Joseph managed all of the base facilities infrastructure and utilized MILCON-funded construction contracts in the turnover of the base to the state and a subsequent private developer. Following service in New Orleans, Joseph was deployed the Horn of Africa with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion ONE as HOA Operations officer, where he oversaw varied projects throughout the region. He continues to serve as a Lieutenant in the Navy Reserves.
After his stint on active duty, Joseph joined Site Design as a member of the surveying department before transitioning to his current position as a civil engineer.
Joseph and his wife, Laurie, share a home in the country, where they spend time with friends and family and enjoy the great outdoors with their dogs, Lady and Copper. Avid hunters and fishermen, the couple enjoys spending much of their free time on the water, especially along the Lowcountry coast.
Joseph received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from The Citadel and a master’s degree in civil engineering from Clemson University.
